These brief instructions will help you get started quickly with Echo. The other topics in this help provide additional information and detail about working with other aspects of Echo.

Decide on your deployment plan

Echo is designed for easy and painless deployment, the following options are available:

While both methods have the same result, the 1-click install is our recommendation. With 1-click installs we pre-bundle and pre-configure everything needed for you to be up and running in a matter of minutes.

When it’s not possible to use pre-bundled images and VMs a manual installation is required.

Obtain a copy of Echo

Based on your deployment strategy, please choose a download source for Echo.

Obtain a license

Before you can start using Echo, you will need to obtain a valid license.

Please read more about licensing.

Deploy or manually install Echo

Echo can be deployed in several manners, deployment methods very based on your infrastructure and scale:

Configure according to your scale

Echo is designed for scale.

As part of the previous guides, you already installed and configured Echo according to your scale. This means that you have a cluster of nodes at your disposal to scale Echo as data and business requirement grows.

Here’s an example of scaling the number of echo-parsers in order to cope with an increase in data intake.

$ docker-compose scale parser=8 # this will ensure we have 8 running parsers

Read our guide on scaling.

Send your data

Echo can receive data streams from multiple sources and of many types.

Read about integrating your data sources with Echo.

Analyze your cyber-security data

Everything is ready, time to see the data.

Navigate your browser (Google Chrome is preferred) to https://ECHO-HOST.
